Oh my gosh. I can't believe I inspired this! A major blogging accomplishment. I cannot believe how perfect it turned out. I wish my husband was this handy. You're little girl will adore this fore
Oh my! I am a little jealous of her too! I saw that post on you are my fave, and reposted about it...we're not going to live in our current home forever, so I'm not even considering it now. But I tell you what - I'm printing this out, and bookmarking it, and sending it to my husband and dad so that one day, HOPEFULLY, we can do something something similar for our daughter. Absolutely love it -- what a lucky little girl! :-)
Sally - No, not at all! I was afraid it would be, but Josh left a little extra space on the sides and ends. I just line up the sheet and blanket along the front and top, and then climb in the bed to tuck the extra alongside the wall and bottom.
I always wanted something like this when I was little! Beautiful! I can see how it would be a wonderful bed for a little boy too! I'd love to have something like this built for my son who loves cozy nooks! Curtains could turn it into an impromptu "stage" or a fort, or a tent!

It is beautiful, you guys did such a wonderful job. My only question here: is it hard to change the sheets?
This is so adorable, I would've loved this room as a kid!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments!

Amazing!! That looks so cosy and wonderful. Such a lucky little girl!
Your nook is lovely.
But what I really must know is where you got that cat quilt! My little girl is crazy about cats, and good cat bedding has been very difficult to find.
Thanks so much!

Hi Victoria!
My mom made the cat blanket - it is actually a patterned piece of fleece. I think she got it from JoAnn Fabrics.
I just fell in love with your nook!! Do you think it would be OK to ask your husband a couple of questions about the construction? Thanks in advance?
Hi! I'm sure he'd be happy to help with your questions! If you send me an email - mail at lisaridgely dot com - I'll pass it along to him.
I found this through the post on Ohdeedoh. Well done! This is so charming and wonderful.
Love that nook! How perfectly warm and cozy, and even more special when it's built by family.

Looks fantastic!!
That is amazing! That Madilyn is a lucky girl!
What a great space!
I am extremely jealous of this spot! How cozy, I love it... beautifully crafted.
Can I hire Josh to come do one for us? You could come out on a fly fishing vacation (provided by my husband ;)
